3 Ways to Make more money on Fiverr

Make more money on Fiverr Immediately

Learn how to Make more money on Fiverr

There are many ways to make more money on Fiverr. This post shares 3 ways you can use immediately. The idea is to work smarter not harder so keep that in mind as you read the tips. You want to be a Top Rated Seller like me, let me show you how!

  1. Raise your Gig prices
  2. Lower your Gig prices
  3. Be competitive

Raise your gig prices

Did you know that you can earn more money on Fiverr by simply raising your gig prices. I was talking to my wife about this yesterday. Months ago I raised my prices and the first month I did that, I netted over $2,400. In my recent conversation I said, honey I can actually earn more money on Fiverr by working less. If I proofread and edit 2 dissertations per week let’s say at $500 each, I can essentially earn $800 per week. That $800 is after Fiverr’s 20% fee. And with a little simple math, $800 x 4 (weeks) = $3200. That would be a total of 8 gigs per month assuming those dissertations are $500 dissertation gigs.

Try lowering your gig prices

Conversely, you can earn more money on Fiverr by lowering your gig prices. This is basically the exact opposite of working less and earning more. This step ‘lowering your gig prices’ helps you with step 3, ‘be competitive’. The goal here is let’s say you are competing with a proofreader who professionally proofreads 20,000 word dissertations for $500 with 4 day delivery. You can simply say you will do it for any amount lower than $500. If you truly want to be competitive you can do both, offer a gig at less than $500 words for 20,000 word dissertations and offer faster delivery.

Be competitive

You can be competitive on Fiverr in many ways. You can even offer customers incentives for being a return customer. Some customers purchase gigs without ever interacting with you or sending a message. They place an order, you complete it and you don’t hear anything, not even a review. You can send these customers a message like: if you return send me a message first for a discount. This will help you establish a line of communication and also create a repeat customer. Also, try, ‘if you refer someone, I will give you $10 off your next order.’ Again, people wait for these discounts. I had a customer I gave a quote to several weeks ago. They returned this week because Fiverr was offering a 20% off your order coupon.

Adjust your prices

You can adjust your prices, there is nothing wrong with raising or lowering as you see fit. Try it out, take notes on what happened when you raised prices and lowered prices. If you apply the lowering your price, offering faster delivery, you are certainly being competitive. However, my word of caution is make sure you can maintain the level of productivity, especially once your orders shoot up. If your orders rapidly begin picking up and you are cutting it close on your ability to deliver in less time, raise your prices to slow your orders down.

On that note I want to talk about raising your prices again, sorry to go back and forth but sometimes it’s good to do that. When you raise your Fiverr gig prices, you create a situation where you will get targeted traffic and serious inquiries. You will know exactly what I am talking about if your gig says you will edit 1000 words for $30, and people messaging you requesting you edit 2,500 words for $5.

Recap of the 3 tips

  1. Raise your Gig prices
  2. Lower your Gig prices
  3. Be competitive

Make sure you make observations and take notes on the results of trying these out. In closing, give these 3 tips a try to make more money on Fiverr. I look forward to hearing your success stories.

How to make money on Fiverr

How to make money on Fiverr

If you are wondering how to make money on Fiverr that means you are motivated to earn money online. By motivated I mean, you are tired of hearing other people’s success stories and now you want a piece of that pie. Well what better way to get advice on being successful on Fiverr, than by reading posts with tips and strategies from a successful Top Rated Seller.

The biggest tip for being successful is being motivated. Once you are motivated to make money on Fiverr, your subconscious (don’t worry I won’t get too deep here) will create conditions for you to believe that you can actually make money through this online platform. For example, you will spend hours reading articles like learn how to make money on Fiverr or I made $10 in 3 minutes from my bed! Holy Crap!!!

Read about successful Fiverr sellers

After you have read enough about successful Fiverr sellers like Alex Fasulo  (How this 25-year-old freelancer made $150,000 in 6 months off Fiverr) or David Feldman (How this 38 year old is making 6 figures freelancing on Fiverr), then you will realize the true potential to be successful as well. For me it was very similar except these aren’t the exact articles I read because I started some years ago. But I do provide these stories so you can see they are real and they are from people of any age.

Make Mistakes

Making mistakes and reflecting on them is how we truly learn and grow. Simply just making mistakes means you make a lot of mistakes. But again, when you reflect it adds that deeper component that is necessary to successfully make money on Fiverr. For example, one my reflections came from looking at my monthly income on Fiverr approaching the end of the month. I was at $2,500 and I wanted to get over $3,000 so focusing on not losing a client, I priced them at $500, instead of $600 to proofread and edit their dissertation. Then to make matters worse, they didn’t manually accept the order so not only was I not going to hit the $3,000 mark I aimed for but that gig wouldn’t even count in that month.

How to make money on Fiverr request board

Learn how to make money on Fiverr using the request board

Also reflect on mistakes of how you chose to work with. For example, as a newcomer years ago, I read of a successful Top Rated Seller. His advice was do not spend time responding to the request board. The advice had merit; the request board is typically saturated with people who are so concerned about their budget.

Fiverr Requests

In the example, you can see a buyer looking for a proofreader for a 36,000 word book. Starts off great. They want 2 documents upon completion, a clean and a track changes version. Still great, this is what I deliver standard as a freelance editor on Fiverr. Here is where it gets bad, “My budget is $50-60.

Now some of you may wonder why I didn’t just look at the tap next to duration, that says BUDGET $64. I don’t look there because some people have never used Fiverr before so that usually is a place holder. In addition, see the Fiverr Request immediately underneath, BUDGET $1000. Are they really paying $1000? For that job, editing and finishing a business plan, most likely not.

Some Fiverr Requests are Legit

I will share, my first few months on Fiverr there was a lawyer who I would eventually partner with who posted a request with a $1000 budget. I had no clue it was legit. So I said I’d do the job with same day delivery for $100. To my surprise, he tipped me $400. The next job was more reasonably priced, I believe it was a $400 to proofread a confidential legal document.

One way to be successful

One way to be successful on Fiverr is to really promote your brand. I go by Dr. L on Fiverr, and every time I send or respond to a message, I write Dr. L at the bottom. I want people to always know who they are dealing with; I want people to make referrals and tell friends and family about Dr. L. Sometimes people go to the request board and write messages like the following. “My sister referred me here and I want Dr. L to proofread my dissertation. Please reply Dr. L. I hope we can work together.”

Another big indicator, that helps me know I am building my brand is buyers can make request directly to sellers. For example, instead of going to the  Fiverr BUYER REQUEST area, I will often receive a message from a prospective buyer requesting a quote.

Fiverr Buyer Request

How to respond to Fiverr Buyer Request

All request to sellers don’t look like this. Some requests from buyers on Fiverr will actually include their budget. And this leads me to the next section.

Know your worth as a Seller on Fiverr

Price your service accordingly with what you believe it’s worth. For me this took a while because my prices were low and I thought I could manipulate my earnings on Fiverr simply by lower or increasing my prices. You know the whole supply and demand thing. Yeah that was not for me. What ended up happening is I’d go on a dry spell with no orders for like 7+ days. I’d lower my prices and get flooded with orders I couldn’t keep up with. Then I’d raise my prices again, only to go on another dry spell.

The solution came from further reading. I read an article from a Top Rated Seller, it was like “How to be a Top Rated Seller on Fiverr” or something like that. The author wrote about pricing your services based on what their worth. This was contrary to other authors who write about pricing based on competition. So I created my own approach based on what the services were worth and also, what I intended to make. For example, I do resume writing and cover letters as well. Ultimately, I want to make $100 from both, so I charge $125 to account for Fiverr’s 20% fee on everything. It reminds of Ketchup or Hot Sauce “I put that on everything”.

Also, I think about the entirety of the job and ask myself an important question. What price would I feel comfortable doing this work? This question takes into account squeezing the job in amongst other jobs, balancing my family time, and doing any fact checking that may be required. After I get all that information, I create a quote and I fully commit myself to the work because it was at my rate.

Don’t be afraid to say no to buyers

I often turn buyers away immediately when they talk about their budget because this sounds bad from the get go. This took me some years to master because I’d read about business and leaders who never let a sale walk away. But truth be told, to each their own. Also, buyers can be very rude especially on Fiverr. You may sacrifice everything to do the gig and they give you a bad review, don’t mark the order complete, or request revisions that are outside of the original agreement. I’ve said no and/or cancelled jobs I completed at rates of $300. Sometimes its not worth the headache and the early you get this sense the better.

In closing, at this point you should be better equipped to not only understand but also tap into how to make money on Fiverr. Remember find your motivation, whether it is the need to make more money, side hustle, part-time, full-time income, etc. Once you have the motivation keep that at the forefront of your approach. When you don’t want to read another How to Make Money on Fiverr related article, then go back to your motivation which is your “why” and keep on pushing.

Keep me posted. I’d love to hear your story. Please comment below!

Best of Luck,

Fiverr Reviews

Fiverr reviews from a freelancer on Fiverr

You are here for the truth, unbiased Fiverr reviews. Well, I’ve got that covered and my goal is to provide you with information to see 3 things:

  • Fiverr is a legit way to make money online
  • It offers a simple to use platform for freelancers to sell
  • People can easily purchase or outsource their work to freelancers on Fiverr
  • There is a way to avoid Fiverr Fees.

Fiverr How to Sell

Learning how to sell on Fiverr is pretty straight forward. First, you need to create a professional profile that will attract buyers. As a freelancer on Fiverr, I have done consultations on peoples Fiverr jobs. One thing I would find is some people wouldn’t smile in their profile picture. I’d tell them something like: think about this, if you were giving me investment advice with that frown on your face do you think I’d continue to use you or make referrals?

Ok, so now you’re smiling. After setting up your profile you need to create your Fiverr jobs. Now that you’re on Fiverr what is a gig? What is a gig you ask? That’s right, Fiverr uses gigs in place of the word “jobs”. So essentially gigs are the same things as jobs. On Fiverr you either purchase or sell gigs. So, you can offer a gig at a price as low as $5. Hence, where Fiverr got their name from. My advice is don’t sell yourself short, offer the price your services are worth. I just got paid $500 for proofreading and editing a 31,000 word dissertation in Microsoft Word. Currently, I’m working on a 83,000 word book for $1,000.

How to make money with Fiverr the easy way

First, to make money with Fiverr quick and easy, you must use the Fiverr app. The Fiverr app is a free download that takes 1 minute. Link it to your profile, turn on notifications, and you are all set. You want to be accessible. This is where the app comes in because you show buyers you are always online. The key with this is buyers will search for sellers using the filter they often want a level 2 or higher seller. In addition, they have a sense of urgency and so they want someone who is online. This is where a level 1 seller can be out a level 2 or Top Rated Seller simply by being online.

How Fiverr works

You have 2 options once you are on Fiverr, become a seller or buyer. This depends on your needs. For example, if you are a blogger and you are looking for resources or help you may want to be a buyer. This allows you to outsource which means paying someone else to write your blog posts. Outsourcing one Fiverr is beneficial because you make a small investment to a freelance writer who can write your posts with SEO strategies and you can monetize those posts. You may also want to be a buyer to get your site or blog designed by someone on Fiverr experienced with WordPress or web design.

Making and Responding to Requests on Fiverr

Fiverr has a section where buyers can make a request and sellers can bid on the request. This is a great place to start for beginners on Fiverr. However, you don’t want to spend your freelance career responding to request. You want to get to a position where people seek you out, search for you and find you. Oh yes, people do use Google search and plenty of Fiverr seller’s profiles rank high in the search engines for certain terms or keywords. This is great because it puts your Fiverr income on autopilot.

 Fiverr how to sell

Fiverr how to sell and become a Top Rated Seller

Become a Top Rated Seller on Fiverr

Currently, I am and have been a Top Rated Seller for over a year. This is where my income started consistently being over several thousand each month on Fiverr. I’m at the point where I can literally work less on Fiverr and make more. My prices are priced appropriately in proportion to my services and quality of work as evidenced by hundreds of 5 star reviews and over 1000 gigs completed.

Fiverr Fees

The last thing I want to mention to close out my Fiverr review is the fees are a little obsessive. This may be what people refer to when they talk about why Fiverr is bad. Fiverr fees aren’t necessarily a bad thing but more or one of the cons of using their services. Fiverr charges the seller 20% of everything. If you sell a gig on Fiverr at $100, minus their 20% fee ($100 -$20 = $80). If you get a $10 tip on top of that $100 gig, it looks like this: $100 -$20 = $80 and $10 – 20% = $8 so you would net $88 on a $100 sale with a $10 tip.

Sometimes your buyer may or may not know about your tip being charged 20%. Sometimes buyers give tips to help you offset your Fiverr fees.

A smart work around for Fiverr Fees

This is a good place to share this tip that you won’t find in other Fiverr Reviews. I have to let you know there is a way to offset this right off the bat; it’s the same thing hairdressers, home sellers, and other professionals do, roll the tip or Fiverr fees into your cost. You can even do both. Here is an example, let’s say you create resumes at $100 and you anticipate a $10 tip, and you know Fiverr is taking a total of 22 dollars from you. You can add that $22 right into your resume gig, so now it becomes a $125 gig with Fiverr fees and the tip included. Once you do that math you now net or walk about with $100. Problem solved and no need to speak on why Fiverr is bad anymore.

Get Good Fiverr Reviews

Aim for 5 star Fiverr Reviews

Reviews on Fiverr

Fiverr operates using a review system with 1-5 stars, and 5 being the highest rating. Sometimes as a seller you will get accidental reviews where someone says they clicked 2 stars by accident. Be persistent and get them to agree to contact customer support. If they don’t, get a screenshot of your conversation with them saying that, and Fiverr customer service will change your rating. Ratings are important to an extent because they determine your search engine rankings on Fiverr. So you want good 5 star Fiverr reviews.

In closing, I hope the Fiverr reviews you have come across combined with this information provide you with guidance on whether Fiverr is for you. In addition, I hope you are reading Fiverr reviews from previous users or freelancers instead of people with no knowledge of the platform or how Fiverr works. Please note that what works for me may not work for you and vice versa. With that being said, I’d love to hear your experience; so, please leave a comment below.

Ways to make money online

There are many ways to make money online – choose convenience

The ways to make money online have gotten easier. For some years now, people have been automating their online earnings. To automate your online earnings simply means putting a system or process in place where you can earn with little to no effort. For example, when a website monetizes by using display adds, they are automating the process because all they have to do is produce content and drive traffic to their site to increase their revenue.

Automation creates an easier way to make money online

Fiverr helps people automate because of the ability to outsource. By outsourcing I mean, you can pay someone to literally create/design your website, write your blog posts, upload your blog posts, and more. You can pay someone to write your social media posts and essentially manage your social media account geared specifically to your brand, blog, business, etc.

The unique thing about Fiverr is that rates start at a low of $5 and move past $1,000 USD depending on what services you are looking for. Myself, I proofread on Fiverr and I rarely charge anyone $5. And I often tell clients, think of it as an investment. You are going to pay me and get expert service for your book that will essentially be a best seller and you will make thousands times more than my rate.

How to hire on Fiverr

For the sake of clarity, I want to make sure everyone knows what a freelancer is. A freelancer is someone who offers a good or a services and receives payment in absence of a company. Essentially, freelancers work for themselves. When using a freelancer on Fiverr, there is buyer protection. That is mainly what gets freelancers on Fiverr lots of business, the buyer feels a sense of protection.

Moving forward,  to hire on Fiverr, simply identify the service you need and you can type a search for that service in the search box. For example, if you want proofreading, you’d type in proofreading and sift through the results and screen everyone’s profile making note of their prices and offerings. This allows you to have some info before contacting freelancers. You can pretty much find a freelancer that will do anything. I was just offered to ghostwrite for a few authors. I have written about us pages for large companies as well. My Fiverr page is Professional Proofreading – Mrltheteacher

ways to make money online using Fiverr

Use Fiverr as a way to make money online

Once you identify a freelancer, you can tell them what you are looking for and create a request along with your budget. Use your budget as a ballpark because they may charge slightly over your budget. Also, keep in mind that if you don’t pay for quality, you will most likely have to buy the service twice because the 2nd time you will pay someone to do a better job. So pay the higher quality freelancer the first time and don’t be cheap on quality!

If you are struggling to choose someone, you can go to the post a request section. In this section you literally create a brief write up like a classified ad specifying what you are looking for and your budget. You will get many replies this way.

3 Steps to create a blog to make money online

How could you not want an online earning opportunity that can be automated? I’ll give you 3 steps to creating an online blog that can be monetized.
1) Identify your interest
2) Identifying the needs for your site
3) Identify how you want to monetize.

Step 1 is the most important because if you don’t choose a niche that you are interested in, you are not going to maintain your drive to produce content or drive traffic to the site. Both of those factors greatly impact how much money your site can generate monthly, weekly, and daily.

Identifying the needs of your site allow you to plan what to budget for. For example, you may not consider yourself a writer or you may not want to write at all. Fact, to get your new blog recognized quickly from visitors you need to write content regularly. At this point, you need to decide to pay a ghostwriter. You may have a budget for a $10 per post ghostwriter on Fiverr. At 4 post per week (4 x $10 = 40) you can expect to pay $40-$90.

In addition, you also need to advertise your blog or website whether it be social media or paid advertising. As you do your research, you may decided that you don’t want to set up advertising yourself, so 2 options:
Pay someone to optimize your site for search engines or SEO.
Pay someone to set up your advertising account on Google, Bing, Pinterest, or Facebook.

Keep Costs Low

The problem with both options is there is an additional cost involved. The pro is that this helps you automate where if you go back to my statement about my clients I proofread for, look at it as an investment. You are investing in someone writing your blog post and advertising so you can make thousands times those investment costs over time. Still a great deal.

If you are wondering how to make money online free, then you can go all in and do everything yourself. It does take more time, but it saves you money.

In closing, my advice for how to make money online for beginners is to simply automate. You can simply go to Fiverr and post a request for someone to give you a consultation on how to walk you through how to set up your website or blog, to earn you money. There are thousands of ways to make money online. You can read all the information in the world but if you don’t understand it, you won’t make it far.

To Make a Post Go Viral or Make a Viral Post?

Everyone wants to make a viral post

How to make a post go viral or make a viral post, that is the question that many bloggers have. You’re here because you want to learn what are the “must haves” to make viral posts. I’m sure you don’t want just one post to go viral but all your posts.

Viral Defined

According to Merriam-Webster (2020) viral means to quickly and widely spread or popularized especially by means of a social media viral video.

This definition that will serve as the basis for discussing the word viral or using the phrase ‘go viral’ throughout this post.

Mateo went viral just with 2 words: Listen Linda!

As bloggers we want our content read, shared, pinned, tweeted, liked, and simply saved. But how do we go about getting our blog on everyone’s screen or device? Do we pay for promotion, advertising, or traffic? Should I just optimize my blog/website for organic traffic, even though we never really know exactly how Google configures its algorithms (no matter how good at statistics we are)? What is the best approach?

How does one go viral?

The first thing I will mention is and to me it’s pretty obvious, there is no “Ultimate Way” to make a post go viral. Think about how many posts or YouTube videos claim to unveil the secret to accomplishing this. It’s kind of like that author who wrote a best seller that they were doubtful about the whole time or their publisher was hesitant to publish. And it unexpectedly become a best seller.

Research to go viral

Although I previously mentioned there is no ultimate way to accomplish going viral from your blog, I have decided to research some of the most popular blogs on viral posts. Unfortunately, I need time to conduct that research and analyze the data. So, this will all be released in a future post. With that said, the ultimate way to write a post that will go viral is in my opinion to do your research. You want to be viral, do the research!

Will research help your posts?

Doing research to go viral was hinted at in a post by ConvertKit discussing the suggestion to “Curate Content.”

If you already know what you audience is searching for on the Internet, a great way to wrangle them in is to write a blog that has everything they want in one easy-to-read

Now you may note that the brief quote above from never mentions the word research, but rather advises you to think about what your readers are searching for and write about that on your blog. These are more geared towards keywords and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

Do preliminary research for improved content

Aside from the advice from Convertkit, I am advising that you do research on the content your are talking about. This allows you to write really informed posts that are relevant, current, and backed by research. There is nothing wrong with throwing out your opinion however, you can strengthen your argument by providing a source that is in alignment with your opinion. Using research adds to your credibility and it adds additional value to your posts.

Moving forward, doing research informs you as the writer and positions you to better be able to inform your audience, the readers.
Think about it, those of us using Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram,, etc. to circulate our posts. We have to admit that at one point we did a little research and in fact we learned that these are great ways to drive traffic to your blog and increase the chances we have to make a post go viral.

We know better than believing Content is King

There is a saying that has been around since like the mid 2000s, “Content is King.” I believe research is King and it has always hidden behind Content. Research is the hard work that you do and Content is the final product. Your audience doesn’t see your research, they see the content. It’s kind of like in sports, the untrained eye doesn’t see the coach, they see the athlete.

If this post was research study with participants, my readers would read the description I give regarding the methodology or the methods used to collect and analyze the data. I digress, let’s  go back to our example with a viral blog post. You do research before you write, you might research for a quote, a chart, and some other unique facts. Right in line with research comes the idea of rewriting previously written posts.

Revise Content

A lot of successful bloggers discuss making revisions to rewritten posts. This reminds me of the stories of successful inventions. You barely hear about the thousands of failed trials, what you do hear about is the success. In this vein, it is like the work behind the scenes, the research and in the quest for going viral, the work that is viewed is the viral content.

Research is King

Research to make a post go viral

Want to make a post go viral? Research is King!

Brittany Bullen in her article titled THE SECRET SAUCE THAT MADE THESE 7 BLOG POSTS GO VIRAL, cited a powerful post by Derek Halpern of That post was titled THE “CONTENT IS KING” MYTH DEBUNKED (Halpern, 2011). If we think Content is King we should think again!

Moving forward, as I read Bullen’s posts I was very excited to see that she agreed with my thought on the significance of research being King. And this sense of research being king is what will really make a post go viral. She said, Halpern’s post wasn’t just a contrasting view; it stole the spotlight by using academic research to prove a contrasting point. Again, as I have said Research is King and apparently it always has been.

I will conclude by saying as I did preliminary research on how to go viral with blog posts, I consistently noticed lots of misspellings. As someone who once thrived on SEO, I know that some writers intentionally misspell words and use those as targeted keywords to increase their traffic. But let’s be honest we have all read a book with typos. When the content is engaging we disregard the typos and keep going. I’m assuming the same holds true for the misspelled words in viral blog posts.

To make a post go viral

If your goal is to make a post go viral, you should write each post with this intent in mind. Coach Stowers used to tell us, play every play like it’s your last. Essentially, if you never played again, then you know you played that last play as best as you could. Write every post, with the intent of it going viral.

Make your post go viral

Make you post go viral like fidget spinners!

Once you have gone viral, what will you do next? I always advise people no matter what it is you are doing, think about what you can maintain. If you write a viral post, what are you going to do next to honor your readers?

Maintain your activity level on your blog

Can you put out more viral content? Do you know how to rewrite some older posts and use the sauce to make a post go viral again and again? You better, continue with exceptional content! Don’t be a 1 post wonder. In the words of Lil Baby, “my biggest fear is being a used to be”. As you prepare potentially viral content, ask yourself what will my legacy be. Will people say, I remember him, he wrote 1 viral post.

Often times when I write content, I don’t want to stop. I always feel that I am one sentence away from going viral or one sentence away from a huge explosion of traffic to my blog. This motivates me to keep writing. Every post I write is my best post. I continue to write subsequent posts with the idea of writing a better post than my last post. It’s never all about me when I write, it is all about my readers. When I coach people on writing (I take my own advice as well), I tell them to write their content in a way that answers all of their readers’ questions.

No Secret Sauce

With that said, is there a true secret sauce to going viral? No, but there are things that can be done to increase one’s chances such as sustained hard work. As I look at bloggers writing about how to make a post go viral, they work long hours 60+ weekly. And some have small teams (1-2 people). The common variable though is hard work.

3 Must Haves

During my doctoral research proposal, a member of my committee said, “I was a little disappointed. I thought this was going to be something that prepared us to go on Oprah.” Honestly, I wasn’t offended because Oprah didn’t have her Oprah Show that aired on WFSB 3 anymore, she had the OWN network. So, he was wrong on many levels. But more importantly, I rewrote my content with not only Oprah in mind but my audience in mind. The 3 ingredients from the go viral recipe that you should “cook with,” are research, hard work, and keeping your audience in mind.

In conclusion, write every post so it is better than your last post. Above all, do your research on the content you are writing about plan to promote your content like nobody’s business.  Not even the experts have identified a single ingredient that is the end all be all to make a post go viral. So, write every post with the intent of achieving that ultimate goal of going viral! And don’t be surprise when it happens, expect it!
