In order to make money online during Covid-19, you must put a system in place where you can offer something people are looking for. 

Step 1. Identify an area of speciality where you can offer a service and set yourself up to make money online from that service.

Step 2. Reflect on your service and refine it. This may mean changing the price you are charging, adjusting higher or lower depending on your success, credibility, and online earning potential.

In case you are wondering, why should you listen to me. Well, I have already implemented this very system to help me make money online during Covid-19 and beyond.

For example, colleges and universities along with many K-12 educational institutions are now doing some form of distance learning. What service(s) can you offer in the field of education that would allow you to make money online during cover-19? I’ll list a few: tutors, proofreaders & editors and Readers to do Read Alouds.

Make Money Online During Covid-19 by working in an education related capacity

There are thousands of students across America taking Algebra, Trigonometry, Spanish, Statistics, learning to read, identify their letters and so on. Parents are tasked with this new role of being a teacher, students are expected to sit in front of a computer for hours on end. But these students need help. They need the same level of help and tutoring or more than they would need during a typical school year. You can offer your tutoring services via Fiverr.

If you have taken a few Spanish courses, create a gig on Fiverr I will offer basic Spanish tutoring for $30 per 15 minutes. You get 3 customers, and bang you are at $90 dollars a day, the equivalent of a substitute teacher in a school. And just like that you have implemented an approach to make money online during cover-19

Many students at all levels from secondary through higher education are still writing papers. You can offer to proofread high school essays, college assignments, etc. for $25 per paper. You can even simplify this process and use Microsoft Word or Google Docs spelling and grammar checking features.

Reading books.

There are many children who need a bedtime story or simply a read aloud throughout the day. You can record yourself reading children’s books and post them on YouTube and get paid for the views or you can sell them as a gig on Fiverr. For example, I will read a bedtime story for $5.

Think about it, again children are home all day now with their parents. Their parents in most cases are not teachers or in some cases they aren’t comfortable reading books aloud. This is where you come in. This may be something you do every night in your own household, so why not offer it to a family in need and make money online during covid-19 in the process!

Sell your services or outsource on Fiverr

Remember with Fiverr, you don’t have to set up a seller’s account but rather you can be a buyer and hire someone to do all the work for you. For example, let’s say you want to tap into the Read Aloud market. You’d open a buyer’s account. Make a request for a freelancer: “I need someone to read aloud a brief children’s book and make a 2 minute video or audio recording.” Create the agreement i.e., you’d pay $5. Now you take this video or recording and you post it to YouTube or sell it directly for $10. 

Let’s say you want to create a blog. You post a request, “I need someone to make a blog for me.” Create the agreement and pay for the service and viola, you have a blog that was created for you. You can do the same with content. Pay a freelancer on Fiverr to write content about any topic you want. Pay them, and again voila you have content that you can publish and make money online during Covid-19 without leaving your home or learning how to create a blog yourself!

Believe it or not, there are still ways people are making money online during cover-19. For example, people are blogging, monetizing through ads via blogs, YouTube, freelancing, and more. Those 3 are methods that people have been using for over a decade to make money online. As previously mentioned, many industries have closed their doors. Not the internet, we still are up and running. Take your services online and make money!

Think about how many people are making masks and face shields to protect others from Covid-19. These people have simply identified a need and a service they can offer. Some of these people have never made a mask or shield before but they are producing them like experts now. What can you do to make money online during covid-19 right now?

Turn Any Talent into an Online Money Making Opportunity

Turn Any Talent into an Online Money Making Opportunity by putting it online. If you are a stock advisor and you have been furloughed, then you can take your skills online and make money by creating a blog with stock investing advice, create a YouTube channel discussing the market, or freelance write articles using your expertise about the stock market.

Another example, let’s say you were a college football coach and you have been laid off due to covid-19 concerns. Take your coaching knowledge online and you can use the 3 methods I mentioned above. You can easily create a video with Xs and Os drawing up how the option can be stopped. You could also create a blog with advice for high school players looking to get recruited (I tried this years ago and netted over $10k).

Be a Consultant 

Being a consultant during this pandemic is a no brainer. Take whatever you did previously to make a living and create a consulting gig out of it. As I have mentioned in previous posts, you can use Fiverr because it is easy to navigate or you can create your own blog, website, or social media presence. Chances are you probably already have a social media account. Now is the time to capitalize on that account. If you are a human resource specialist, you can consult with people online who have questions about labor laws, filing a grievance, benefits, etc.

You may have recently had a virtual doctor’s appointment. You can simply consult with anyone who has anxiety about what a virtual doctors appointment is. I’ll give the complete how to guide for this one.

1) Get a Google Voice account and phone number.

2) Set up your consultant page via Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, you can also use Fiverr.

3) Describe your service and your rate – example: Include a nice headline such as: Are you worried about what to expect from your virtual doctor’s appointment? I will provide a 10 minute phone consultation for $20 explaining what to expect from your virtual doctor’s appoint. Call me at 401-866-2299, I will send you an invoice via PayPal.

Get Paid for your Expertise

If you were a computer coder familiar with Java or HTML you can consult with people who can email you their code and you email the invoice via PayPal. Just like that you can make money online during Covid-19. You didn’t have to do anything special or take any courses. Google Voice is free, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Fiverr are all free!

What did it cost you to be a consultant on a topic that you are knowledgeable of, nothing! I taught myself how to code in HTML. What can you learn that you can later teach someone while making money online doing so? Possibilities are endless. Learn how to jump rope. Let’s say you are into fitness or cardio, can’t you share a few tips in a blog or video about your breathing technique while jogging or doing squats?

Make a Blog or Videos and Monetize it to Make Money 

Your content doesn’t have to be absolutely great, it just needs to add value to the lives of others. It needs to be something people are looking for. My first website target high school football players looking to get recruited to play college football. Using my content I provided value to high school football players, high school coaches, and parents of high school football players.

These approaches that allow people to make money online aren’t new, more people are beginning to tap into these strategies or side hustles as they are becoming known as over recent years. But if you take my advice for making money online, your new side hustle can become your new monthly income. Lastly, I just want to emphasize the unique opportunity to make money online during cover-19 because as you can see physical businesses have closed but it would take power outages of a significant level to shutdown the internet.

Awareness of Potential to Earn a Living Online

This post is based on creating awareness of how you can earn a monthly income online and how much income you can earn online each month, what I refer to as your online earning potential. But before we jump to awareness, we must start with desire. According to Webster.com, desire means: conscious impulse (see IMPULSE entry 1 sense 1) toward something that promises enjoyment or satisfaction in its attainment (Webster, 2020).

For the purpose of simplicity, let’s use desire interchangeably with the word “will” or the two words “want to”. I often hear people saying I wish I could make money online. That saying can be split into two sayings; the first “I wish I could make money online.” The second being, I wish I could make big money online. To both comments my response remains the same, you can! You can make money online and yes you can make big money online. Knowing this information moves us from just wishing we could make money online to confirming we actually want to make money online. And to that, I ask all of you, do you truly desire to make money online? If the answer is yes, then do so. Find your skill set and if you can offer a service, do so via Fiverr. Desire to Earn Thousands Online

If you even think you want to make money online, then your desire will fully confirm for you if this true. When you have a burning desire to obtain or achieve something, your mind helps your body establish all the conditions to do so. If this is not the case, then you truly don’t have the desire, but rather you are just saying you do.

Online earning potential is significantly impacted by one’s desire to earn money online. I always hear people saying, I wish I could make more money; they continue saying this for months and years and it becomes part of what they say, kind of like when they say hello to someone. I had a desired to earn thousands of dollars online each month and I achieve that. Therefore, I recognized my online earning potential and my mind helped me to create the conditions necessary to turn this desire into results. Some of the conditions my mind has helped me establish are:

Waking up earlier to have time to complete online gigs through Fiverr and through my proofreading website.
Setting time in the evening to complete online gigs.
Presenting clients with a turnaround time that allows me to remain in control of when I choose to work.
Creating the appearance that I am always available for clients.
Reading about ways others have achieved their monthly income online.

Learning to Earn from Netrepreneurs 

It would be nice if you had a mentor, who has done this work and achieved great results. I didn’t have one, so I read. Sometimes I would sacrifice not working, to simply read and better myself. I did this on a mental/spiritual level, on a leadership level, and on a business level. The most important tip from my list above is reading about about the experiences of other successful netrepreneurs who have mastered how to make money online. 

Fiverr Online Earnings January 2020

I make over $2,000 on Fiverr alone each month.

This has had a huge impact to my success online. For example, when I read this article How These 3 People Make 6 Figures A Year On Fiverr, that same month I made over 2,500 on Fiverr alone, which brought my total to over $3,000 that month. For the next several months I averaged about $2,200 monthly just from Fiverr alone, which is not too bad at all. Before reading that article I always looked at my online jobs as a source of unlimited income. This work is not a fixed salaried but a representation of how much do I want to work, which equates to how much I make. So, if I did double of my best month, I could have over $6,000 per month. Again, going back to Henry Ford’s quote and my desire. When you have a desire, the conditions will manifest in your life. If they haven’t, then there is some doubt in your mind. 

 

Online Advertising and Affiliate Marketing Revenue

My first experience with making money online was with Google Adsense and Commission Junction. These are 2 totally different mediums for generating revenue online. Basically, Google Adsense and Commission Junction allow website owners to monetize their content by inserting adds on their pages. The difference between the two is Adsense operates on a pay per click basis or at least it did when I used it. And Commission Junction operates based on leads and/or sales. Basically, I would sale adds or leads and get paid by the two organizations for driving traffic and sales leads to their merchandise.

In order to make money online and hone into my online earning potential, I created multiple websites consisting of content that I was somewhat knowledgeable of including College Football, Scholarships, Getting your GED, and Getting Student Loans. I taught myself how to code my websites using HTML and CCS coding. Let’s just say it took me months before I earned money and I was jumping up and down the first time I earned $.25! It was not much but I felt accomplished.

 

Fast forward to 2016, I had this urge to get all of my credit card debt down and improve my credit score. First, I stopped using my credit cards. Then I called all the card services for each account and requested lower interest rates. To my surprise, I got 1 card issuer to give me a rate that was 3% lower. The rest said I’m sorry we don’t offer customers lower rates (*I later found out this was not true).

As I became more educated on this process, I designed an informational website for improving credit. The site may have produced a few hundred dollars through sales leads but it was nothing compared to the $13K I made over a span of several years previously. My new thought was, how could I earn money online? Then I stumbled upon Fiverr and realized people were getting paid $5 to perform task ranging from spelling someone’s name with rice, doing a voice over, reading someone’s paper and critiquing it, and more. That was it, this was my moment.

Then, I arrived on Fiverr.

Earning as a Freelancer

The first thing I did was go through various pages and explored topics. Then I reflected on a service I could offer. The lightbulb went off, I recently proofread 2 professors research before they submitted for publication. I could offer proofreading services! Fiverr refers to jobs as gigs. As I think about my first gig on Fiverr, I must have told the buyer I would proofread his 40,000 word document in 24 hours for $5. I will never forget it, I was at my daughters Cross Country tournament. I checked the buyer request and there it was: Looking for a proofreader, 40,000 words. Budget: $5. I’m going to be real, that gig was awful. I was totally selling myself short, it wasn’t worth the time or the sacrifice, I must’ve been up until 4:00am trying to meet this deadline for a measly $4 after Fiverr’s 20% fee for all sales.

Moving forward, I continued at this pace because the way I saw it, if I did 10 $5 gigs per day, I could make $50 per day the equivalent to a part-time job. At that point, my online earning potential was low because I wasn’t really sure how to navigate and charge higher prices. I thought I hit the jackpot when an Attorney posted: Looking for proofreading 20,000 words. Budget: $1000. Not really understanding how budgets worked or that they are negotiable, I wrote him, I will do this for $100! He accepted and told me if I did a great job there would be a huge tip. Long story short, he tipped me $250. This was my new regular customer. Then we parted ways when he requested I sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) due to the nature of his documents. I disagreed and that was the end of it. 

Using your Skill Set to Earn Money Online 

At this point, I was 2 years into my doctoral program. I was proofreading on Fiverr and for professors. I was then advised to get a graduate research assistant position to get paid to proofread research and assist with research as needed. That is when I stepped my proofreading up a level. I began reading everything from dissertations to novels, screenplays, Amazon Ads, etc.

My dissertation gig had 3 levels, Basic charging $165, Standard at $230, and Premium at $280 the money was coming in. I had made $10,000 in one year. Making big money online suddenly became my reality. In my previous online money adventure, I accumulated $13,000 in several years, this was only 1 year! Your online earning potential increases when you have credibility. You can gain credibility from reviews and from referrals. When you have credibility it increases your online earning potential because you can charge higher prices, and best of all, you are justified in doing so and this will cause your clients to pay your rates!

To Make a Post Go Viral or Make a Viral Post?

Fast forward to 2019, I hit my biggest months of making money on Fiverr. I made several thousand dollars each month to close out 2019 and best of all, I remained a Top Rated Seller on Fiverr! This is the story of how I turned my online earning potential into a goal.

Started Upwork in 2018 after getting tired of losing 20% per sale and receiving limited support from customer service to rectify order issues. I was seeking something more upscale and that would produce buyers that were more focused on quality, not low prices.

This goes right in line with the paragraph immediately above, well ok, both paragraphs above. I couldn’t bring myself to paying Fiverr 20% of my sales just for allowing me to be on their platform. Equally important is the buyer, they are charged a 5% service fee. What does this do, it drives up prices; sellers, (I’m guilty of this too) have to account for this 20% in their sales. To avoid paying Fiverr’s excessive 20% fee per sale and per tip, I created my own website showcasing my freelance skills and also affording me the opportunity to continue making a monthly income online.

This is where it all started. My huge aha moment! I finished my undergrad in 2007. I had about a semesters worth of experience with computer science before changing my major in order to keep up with my new lifestyle of being a full scholarship starting Offensive Lineman at a Division 1aa school. Anyhow, upon graduation I had the urge to work from home and I began making a monthly income online. The information I have listed throughout this post all constitute the path that I took to make making a monthly income from home a possibility.

In closing, if you asked me to name someone who is making a monthly income online only one name comes to mind Neil Patel. Neil Patel seems great, and in touch with reality. The only issue with Neil is when he starts talking about the SEO jargon, it gets kind of confusing and some of that can be discouraging.

What I am trying to build is something that if you follow my suggestions, it is attainable. Also, I am posting content and documented proof of how I am making a monthly income online. I do something that sets me aside from some of these “making money online” gurus, I make myself vulnerable. I show myself, my earnings, my profile, etc. This helps my audience know that I am only human, and what I achieve we all can achieve. As a consumer, over the years I have grown tired of reading about so called gurus, that never post about their own profile or how they navigated. The just post affiliate links, which are helpful but they leave out the blueprint. To you, I give the blueprint!
